In the changing world scenario of environment friendly practices, be it in the industrial sector or living style of people, nature friendly and natural products are acquiring new dimensions. Coir products, being cent percent natural, can utilize eco-friendliness as a Unique Selling Proposition to its advantage and outweigh other natural as well as synthetic competitive products in the market. Considering the scope of popularizing the existing as well as new products of the industry, Coir Board has decided to celebrate 2010 as “Year of Coir” by organizing various programmes.
Highlights
Awareness programmes on uses and eco-friendly properties of coir for various target groups. Special meets involving Interior Designers, Engineers, Architects, Agriculturists etc. to disseminate the technological advancements in coir sector. Programmes to popularize technologies and products recently developed by Coir Board. Workshops, Seminars, Field Demonstrations; slogan contest, Essay competitions for children; Environment run etc. Aggressive publicity programmes at New Delhi in connection with Common Wealth Games-2010, New Delhi. Year long celebrations in all coir producing States of the country. Programmes to culminate at New Delhi in the presence of VIPs and celebrities.
