The portal is envisaged to be the one-stop-information-shop for all coir related queries.

:: Consequent on Relinquishing of the Charge of Chairman, Coir Board , by Shri V.S.Vijayaraghavan (Ex-MP), Shri Dinesh Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises will hold the charge of Chairman, Coir Board with effect from 22nd November, 2011 :: ::The Coir Workers Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme policy has been extended from 01.12.2011 to 31.03.012 through United Insurance Co. Ltd. Ernakulam at a premium of Rs.2,04,765. :: :: The DGFT, New Delhi has clarified that coir mats with different types of backing materials are classified under Chapter 57 of ITC (HS) Code Book. Accordingly, the VKGUY/FPS benefits would be available to all handmade coir mats irrespective of the type of backing materials used in the coir mats. :: :: Coir Board has been empowered to certify items as handmade for benefit under FPS ::
